OK, im back from the Grand Canyon



OK, I’m back from the wilderness. It is indeed how overwhelmingly large the Grand Canyon is. I was also told I should make “Rapid Simulator 2014” as an Indi game, not a bad idea, but that is far beyond my skill at the moment. Anyway its straight back into working in my portfolio and getting somewhere with my project.

Current plan is to redo the fire extinguisher object or re-texturing it and so a dDo/nDo make over on it as I rely doo need to get into the PBR way of things. Having said this, looking into PBR way of things, it might be that I will have to wait a while before UDK gets updated or re-released to use PBR. Someone on polycount did create a very good material for simulating PBR in the current version of UDK, but it is very complicated and does indeed require the user to recreate a Cube map of sorts for the environment it is used in, which has mixed results. Anyway, this does tempt me to acquire UE4 for this process, however this requires money, money which I don’t have coming at the moment, although it is a relatively small expense, the monthly fee will sooner or later add up. So in a nutshell I am indecisive at the moment with the current situation with PBR and UE4.

Anyway, back to work and updates sooner rather than later.
