Halloween Final Stuff

not much i can put in hear other than these are two pieces representing what i would of liked to be my final "Final" as in, these where going to be the final concepts but never quite made it due to me being too slow at getting a decent idea of what i wanted to do.


the one at the top is my least favoret as it looks VERY our of place, mainly due to the face that i drwe the background in last with the main subject hidden so i could see what i was doing, which in turn created a background for a character which looks like it dosent belong there. So i decided that i would start again but starting with the background instead of the other way round (were on the second one now) this in turn was a grate inprovement as the charicter now look more nateral in this new envioment rather than unconterbal. overall it looks better but im not 100% happy with it as i found it hard to come up with a decent consept for this assingment. i had attempter using "Mudbox" but it lacked the abilaty for a higher Poly Count so the modle looked verry unnateral, espashaly when i tried ot use knife marck, it just ended up mushing up the polys rather than creating a nice goove in the modle to symulate a knife marck, which is rather missfortunet.

Halloween mood bord

well this is the mood bord, also a scetch (kind of) of what im doing, but im also modeling a charicter in mudbox and probably going to export that into photoshop as a massive resolution so i can work over it in detail.


 


 
i looked into various consepts from games such as EA's "Dantais Inferno" and "The Pulterguist" since they are extrimaly good at dipicting surrial Horror.

Fical Pice

OK this the finale piece. I decided to use a mountain stile to this piece as it seemed to fin the tree better. i was going to add leave's but they didn't turn out well so i removed them.

I used the color property for the tree but for the rest of the painting i used the screen and color doge for the colors of the background.

My Trees

ok well, slightly delayed but i have my reasions. anyway, here they are!

this is the mood board that i put together, i realized that the film Avatar had allot of concept art which closely resembled the assignment idea, but i didn't go into 100% Avatar as i wanted to see what other artists had brought up

This is the "sketch" i did, well, its basically the silhouette of the trees. the one on the left is too stringy and the branches are rather odd in shape as the seem to get bigger near the end of their reach, so i decided to do the one on the rite, which ended being the more accurate one (in terms of biology) so i'm going to stick with that one with this assignment.

Final Pice, Surrial

In the end i desided to stick with the Flying Eyeball as i felt i could do more with it in a short amount of time.

i worked in a resolution of 4000 my 2000 so i could add more detail to the pice. The idea was to have flaming wings as a sort of fiary spirit.

"Big Daddy" Tantical Guy


So basically in this I got inspired by the "Big Daddies" in Bioshock...

So basically I decided to do something along those lines, a mix of organic mixed with machine. Much like characters in Bioshock.


these are the 2 desings... the first one was the finmal concluded scetch and the lower one is a work in process (dont have a PC yes in my house and dont have photoshop yet so working on things are a little tight)

the ide idea was that the the charicter was based with a body of worm like tenticals that think in unisen, they are then compressed into a single sute ot take a more "formidable" form rather than a mush of collective worms. think if it as a bunch of brain sells but with musle in them but they all think together as one.the hands are desinged to make the charicter "the ultiment handy man" as they can pritty much get a grip on enything. the charicters bulky feacher is basicaly dues to the compressed worms/tenticals. tany exposed tenticals/worms are coted in metal or a metalic fabric for armore, for exampole, the hand tenticals are more effective beying coted in flexible metal, which also makes them more dangorus if provoked or angaged in combat.
